Touring Cobb County … and Beyond!
Once again, we’re venturing just outside the bounds of Cobb County and highlighting the state’s first cable wake facility, Terminus Wake Park in Cartersville. Imagine a lake — or rather two lakes — with cables and state-of-the-art technology just for watersports like kneeboarding and wakeboarding. No boat needed! Add an awesome inflatable obstacle course for weekend fun, and you have Terminus Wake Park.
Why cables?
If you want to try wakeboarding, kneeboarding, wakeskating, or water skiing, there are a lot of obstacles to doing so. You’d typically need all the gear, as well as a boat and money for gas to cruise the lake all day. Terminus’ cable system takes the boat out of the equation and provides equipment rentals as well as instruction and pro tips from on-site dockhands .
The park’s two lakes have towers placed along the edge of the lake that are powered by an electric motor holding a running cable 32 feet above the water. This allows six riders to wakeboard simultaneously.
What if I’m a total newbie?
Terminus was built for you! Well, it was built for novice, intermediate, and advanced wakeboarders and other water athletes. There are 20-minute “Learn to Ride” beginner lessons for just $30, which include board, vest, and helmet rentals and an hour-long lesson available for pro coaching. You can also book a two-hour or full-day time slot for a cable.
What else is on-site?
Terminus offers weeklong summer camps for kids age 7–14 who know how to swim. If you’re looking for something fun for your little one to do, this might be just the thing! They’ll start the day learning and practicing wakeboarding and get to finish it with time on the inflatable obstacle in the Aqua Park or on kayaks or stand-up paddleboards. Visit TerminusWakePark.com/camps for more information.
The Aqua Park is also a fun and safe place to take the kids on a weekend,” said Marietta accident lawyer Ramiro Rodriguez, Jr.
It’s got slip-and-slides, trampolines, swings, and balance beams, all on the water. Remember to book ahead to reserve your time slot! You can also reserve the Aqua Park or book a Learn-to-Ride party as a fun way to celebrate a birthday or host a team-building event.
